The Senior Manufacturing Engineer plans, designs and constructs manufacturing facilities and related structures, determines facility specifications, and resolves technical problems while recommending production improvements.

Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Analyzes workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layouts for maximum efficiency. Determines parts, equipment, tools, and processes to meet manufacturing goals per product specifications.

Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in manufacturing engineering with basic knowledge of related disciplines. Works independently with minimal guidance, solves complex problems, and acts as a resource for colleagues. Estimates production times, staffing, and costs for management decisions, communicates capabilities and schedules, and confers with vendors on specifications. Evaluates products against standards. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering and 5-7 years' experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline
  • Basic knowledge of related job disciplines
  • Ability to solve complex problems

Responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
  • Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes
  • Confers with vendors to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts
  • Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards
