About this role

Bowhead seeks a Systems Engineer to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN. The Systems Engineer will provide technical and engineering support services to the Strategic Systems Guidance, Navigation and Control Division. This role focuses on system integration and performance for mission-critical applications.

Daily tasks include maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting systems such as servers, workstations, storage devices, and applications. Analyze detailed system designs and functional requirements to ensure proper integration and performance of Minotaur systems. Provide end-user support by addressing technical issues and optimizing functionality.

Collaborate with engineering teams to implement system updates, patches, and performance enhancements. Ensure robust, secure, and compliant network solutions support mission objectives. Support network connectivity, databases, and associated mission-critical applications in a team environment.

Test, document, and validate system configurations to ensure compliance with operational standards. Participate in system integration, debugging, and deployment of new features or mission enhancements. Contribute to technical reporting, knowledge management, and system sustainment activities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
Familiarity with SysML and MBSE best practices
Experience with creating and managing system requirements
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level; US Citizenship required
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time, twist, bend and squat periodically

Responsibilities

Oversee a development contract and associated SETR events for both HW and SW
Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot systems, including servers, workstations, storage devices, and applications
