About this role
The primary responsibility is to support operations of a $40 Million business that manufactures mechanical Aerospace components. This individual provides quality support to enhance business performance in manufacturing cost, output, safety, and quality improvements. The position is located in Monticello, IN, manufacturing high quality Bearings used for Aerospace applications.
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, perform functions like assisting in setup and troubleshooting of grinding equipment. Order all tooling necessary for grinding operations and submit workorders to work with maintenance on priorities. Assist Engineering with new part setup, setup reduction, cycle reduction, and maintain controlled setup cards.
Assign work to S&O operators and Operator B personnel, instructing on proper procedures and gaging methods. Work with Engineering on process improvements including quick changeovers, standard work procedures, and new machine design. Collaborate with maintenance on vendor engagement and scheduling.

Requirements
- Grinding Knowledge/Experience
- Programming of CNC grinders and CNC Turn
- Technical degree or equivalent related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Proficient with the Internet
- Above average verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively function in a matrix and team environment
- U.S. Person as defined by federal export control laws
Responsibilities
- Assign work to appropriate S&O operator and Operator B personnel and instruct on proper procedures and gaging methods
- Assist in setups and troubleshooting on grinding equipment, understanding grind wheel capabilities, speeds and feeds
- Provide second ok and review jobs to ensure compliance with production routing and print requirements
- Submit workorders for down equipment and help set priority with maintenance, including vendor engagement
- Work with Engineering on process improvements including setup reduction, cycle reduction, and maintenance of controlled setup cards
- Assist Engineering with new part setups, machines and rates, as well as new machine design and application
- Assist in ordering grinding tooling such as grinding wheels, diamonds, jaws, drivers, quills, and diamond rolls
- Perform first piece approval per setup approval process and operate precision measuring equipment
