Are you looking for an opportunity to flex your technical skills as part of an engineering design team developing digital architecture? The Modeling, Analytics, and Simulation Sciences (MASS) Operation seeks a Model-Based Systems Engineer to support customers at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC). Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is a rapidly growing field in the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Communities.

As a member of the engineering team, you will work alongside engineers and software developers to develop authoritative engineering models that contribute to our nation’s defense. This role involves applying MBSE methodologies to create models for complex systems and systems of systems. Your efforts will directly support defense missions through advanced digital architectures.

You will collaborate effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, including internal staff, external contractors, and government customers. Strong written and verbal communication skills enable you to produce and present technical documentation and artifacts. This setting fosters integration across diverse stakeholders at NASIC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, or related technical field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of SysML for modeling architectures and system behaviors
  • Proficiency with MBSE methodologies and tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain models, artifacts, and integrated datasets for complex systems and systems of systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, including internal staff, external contractors, and government customers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce and present technical documentation and artifacts
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop authoritative engineering models using SysML for architectures and system behaviors
  • Apply MBSE methodologies and tools like Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, IBM Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
  • Maintain models, artifacts, and integrated datasets for complex systems and systems of systems
  • Collaborate with engineers, software developers, internal staff, external contractors, and government customers
  • Produce and present technical documentation and artifacts
  • Analyze architecture and engineering data to solve complex problems and recommend solutions
  • Support DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), or other frameworks
  • Contribute to modeling and simulation tools and practices in aerospace/defense systems
