This role supports New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of carrying people and payloads to orbit and beyond.
As a Senior Systems Engineer on the New Glenn Systems Engineering Integration and Test team, apply broad multidisciplinary engineering knowledge to create processes for development, implementation, certification, and sustainment. Requires deep understanding of requirements definition, verification, validation, functional analysis, modeling, simulation, and system safety analysis. Support alignment of systems engineering practices from system level through program tiers.
Join a hardworking team of engineers working across vehicle stages and subsystems for integrated launch system design, build, certification, and sustainment. Utilize and develop processes ensuring consistent implementation with multidisciplinary teams to create technical solutions. Help develop metrics for program health and progress toward major milestones.
Lead projects to implement systems engineering processes and tools in a fast-paced environment. Lead operational excellence initiatives and continuous improvement for the function. Perform at a high level supporting major milestones and program reviews.
Requirements
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or a related technical field
- 10+ years of proven engineering experience
- 2+ years of experience managing or leading an engineering team
- Proven experience with launch vehicles or large-scale aerospace programs
- Demonstrated experience with end-to-end aerospace design and development lifecycle from concept through test and certification
- Experience improving and streamlining processes and engineering tools
- Deep understanding of requirements definition, verification, validation, functional analysis, modeling, simulation, and system safety analysis
- Experience with technical measures and specialty engineering including operability, reliability, maintainability, and supportability
Responsibilities
- Lead projects to develop and implement systems engineering processes and software tools
- Lead operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives for the systems engineering function
- Utilize and develop systems engineering processes, ensure consistent implementation across the program, and serve in a systems integration capacity with multidisciplinary teams
- Work across vehicle stages and subsystems to support integrated launch system design, build, certification, and sustainment
- Support alignment and standardized implementation of systems engineering practices across multiple system levels, vehicles, and subsystems
- Develop metrics to monitor quality and schedule performance, identify issues, and support mitigations for major milestones and reviews
- Support development, allocation, and verification of requirements using tools like DOORS Next Gen and product lifecycle management tools
- Perform at a high level in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
