About this role
Lynx delivers modular, open standards-based software solutions for high assurance, mission critical edge platforms in aerospace and defense. We seek a Test Engineering Manager to lead and mature the test engineering function supporting safety-critical programs. This role demands deep DO-178C expertise and oversight of large distributed teams.
Own test strategies for DO-178C-compliant systems, ensuring test cases, procedures, results, and traceability meet certification objectives. Drive automation and process improvements across multiple projects. Manage execution for on-time delivery with high-quality compliance.
Lead a large team of test engineering contractors across workstreams, setting performance expectations and tracking productivity. Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Align efforts with program goals in demanding environments.
Guide teams through DO-178C stages like planning, requirements-based testing, structural coverage, and verification closure. Collaborate with Quality to uphold standards. Advance innovation in secure edge computing for aerospace applications.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in DO-178C for safety-critical software systems
- Strong project management capabilities for aerospace and defense programs
- Proven experience overseeing large, distributed engineering teams
- Experience managing test engineering contractors across multiple projects
- Knowledge of DO-178C objectives, test artifacts, and certification requirements
- Familiarity with requirements-based testing, structural coverage, and verification closure
- Ability to drive test automation and process improvements in high-assurance environments
- Understanding of multicore processing and mixed criticality systems
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a large team of test engineering contractors across multiple workstreams
- Establish clear performance expectations, track productivity, and ensure alignment with program goals
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Own the development, planning, and execution of test strategies for DO-178C-compliant software systems
- Ensure all testing artifacts including test cases, procedures, results, and traceability meet DO-178C objectives and certification requirements
- Drive automation, tooling improvements, and test process advancements
- Guide teams through DO-178C stages including planning, requirements-based testing, structural coverage, problem reporting, and verification closure
- Collaborate with Quality on compliance and verification processes
