About this role
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,000+ satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to consumers, businesses, and government agencies.
We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Kuiper satellites. The success of Kuiper depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products that you deliver. If you seek a fast-paced, dynamic environment and thrive on solving difficult problems with high impact, this role is ideal.
You will assemble and test LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds with emphasis on detail. Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables while following work instructions and safety procedures. Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory, and champion safety in all zones.
This team is based in Redmond, WA and requires on-site availability during working hours. You will contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures in a detail-oriented environment. Building something from scratch offers high-impact resolutions for global connectivity challenges.
Requirements
- 1+ years in assembly or manufacturing
- Highly motivated and detail oriented with highest standards of execution
- Due to export control laws, U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as refugee or granted asylum
- 18 years or older with ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching
- Able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
Responsibilities
- Assemble and test with emphasis to detail an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
- Follow work instructions and safety procedures
- Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
- Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
- Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
- Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
- Support preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
- Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc
Benefits
- Starting pay up to $33.50 / hour in Washington State
- Eligible for incremental raises based on tenure
