North Kingstown, US · Full-time · $160,000 – $220,000
About this role
Reporting directly to the CTO at REGENT, you will develop and implement control law algorithms for seagliders. These all-electric, wing-in-ground effect craft face novel control challenges across hull-borne, hydrofoil-borne, and wing-born modes. Leverage your expertise to unlock commercial passenger transport.
You will address the interplay between hydrodynamic controls, aerodynamic controls, and distributed propulsion controls. Utilize high-fidelity simulations and live-flight testing to validate and verify control systems. This safety-critical work follows RTCA DO-178C processes under SAE ARP4754A aerospace vehicle design.
Collaborate closely with aero, hydro, and mechanical engineers designing control surfaces, plus systems engineers on requirements, verification, and validation procedures, and test engineers. Transition designs from subscale to full-scale prototype development, testing, and certification. Join a team passionate about zero-emission, high-speed seagliders revolutionizing coastal transportation.
Work in a fast-paced environment with daily exciting challenges and abundant growth opportunities. Benefit from excellent health, dental, and vision insurance with 100% premiums covered, flexible time off policy, and employee equity incentive plan. Our collaborative team integrates aviation, aerospace, and maritime engineering.
