About this role

The Aero Gas Turbines Technical Manager is responsible for managing process and coordination of scope of work for refurbishment projects. This role establishes processes to check unit conditions before procurement and produces status reports of surveyed units. It ensures efficient execution from assessment to final reporting.

Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with the Engineering team on required refurbishment scopes of work. Produce lists of required parts, use GE tools to order parts and raise engineering queries, and estimate refurbishment budgets. Contact refurbishment facilities to agree on scope of work, time schedule, required parts, and cost of the process.

Supervise work during execution and obtain final reports while coordinating time schedules among several units needing refurbishment. Collaborate with internal or external refurbishment facilities and the Engineering team. Work involves locations in the Houston, Texas area with 50% travel to other sites as needed.

Requirements

  • 7 years in Construction and commissioning of Aero Gas Turbines TMs and LMs, electrical and Controls or Mechanical
  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
  • OR High School Diploma with 7-10 years of experience in construction and commissioning of Aero Gas Turbines, TMs and LMs, electrical and controls or mechanical
  • Work locations in the Houston, Texas area as well as travel to other locations as needed
  • 50% travel
  • Prior experience in Operation, maintenance, commissioning of Aero gas turbines
  • Prior experience in Power Plant operations and Maintenance
  • Strong IT skills

Responsibilities

  • Establish a process to check the condition of the units before the procurement process
  • Produce status reports of the surveyed units
  • Coordinate with Engineering team all the required Refurbishment scopes of work
  • Produce the list of required parts for the refurbishment process
  • Use GE tools to order parts and raise engineering queries
  • Estimate the budget of the Refurbishment work
  • Contact the refurbishment facility and agree on scope of work, time schedule, required parts, and cost
  • Supervise the work during execution, obtain final report, and coordinate schedules among multiple units
