Join the New York Engineering team and play a central role in the maintenance, repair, overhaul, production, and development of high-pressure turbine airfoils and duct segments. As an Associate Production Engineer, you'll be embedded in a cross-functional matrix organization partnering with Centers of Excellence, Repair Operations, Quality, and Customer Support groups.

Support all repair activities across strategic engine platform airfoil hardware programs by reviewing engine manuals, identifying and developing repair procedures, and leading problem-solving efforts across the organization. Develop and standardize repairs and procedures within assigned special process areas including thermal spray, EBPVD, diffusion coatings, precious metal plating, specialty welding, machining, laser processes, EDM, heat treatment, braze, and chemical cleaning and stripping. Ensure processes meet quality requirements and monitor daily quality and productivity results.

Publish technical reports, develop work instructions, and create operator training materials. Lead root cause and corrective action investigations on equipment and process issues. Recommend and implement process and equipment improvements that enhance safety, quality, and productivity while supporting new program launches.

Requirements

  • Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering
  • 0–2 years of experience in design, manufacturing, or repair engineering
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
  • Strong collaboration skills in integrated, cross-functional team settings
  • Experience in the aerospace industry, particularly gas turbine manufacturing and repair (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and standardize repairs and procedures within assigned special process areas including thermal spray (APS, LPPS), EBPVD, diffusion coatings (VPA, pack cementation), precious metal plating, specialty welding, machining, laser processes, EDM, heat treatment, braze, and chemical cleaning and stripping
  • Ensure processes meet quality requirements and operational objectives and monitor daily quality and productivity results
  • Publish technical reports and develop work instructions and operator training materials
  • Lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations on equipment and process issues
  • Recommend and implement process and equipment improvements that enhance safety, quality, and productivity
  • Support new program launches and acceptance of new manufacturing processes
  • Lead or participate in technical meetings and report regularly on project progress
  • Mentor and train less experienced team members
