About this role

Stirling Dynamics is recruiting an experienced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer for a contract position. The role supports a range of current and upcoming aerospace programmes. Work within a small team to deliver CFD modelling activities and analyses.

Interact with internal and external customers on technical and programme levels. Develop suitable new methodologies and conduct CFD analyses at a high standard. Quickly acclimatise to current projects and progress ongoing tasks with existing methodologies.

The role best suits individuals with significant industry experience in the aerospace domain. Manage multiple tasks and deliver within agreed timescales. Maintain project documentation in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System.

Prepare and present technical reports and proposals. Support preparation of project management planning documentation including quality and technical plans. Opportunity to apply expertise in aircraft aerodynamics for civil and military applications.

Requirements

  • Experienced in aircraft OML design activities within industry
  • Highly proficient in CFD modelling with ANSYS toolsets including SPACECLAIM, DISCOVERY and FLUENT
  • Steady and unsteady external aerodynamic flows of civil and/or military aircraft
  • Extensive hands-on experience working in low-speed, subsonic, and transonic regimes, including performance optimisation
  • Self-motivated, professional candidate with the ability to proactively problem-solve independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately with attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills, including a professional approach when dealing with internal and external customers
  • Good organisational skills, including record keeping, and able to act in a customer facing position
