For the first 4-6 months, the role is based in Rockford, Illinois, or Fort Collins, Colorado, with some remote opportunities. It then transitions to full-time at the new Spartanburg, South Carolina facility. Salary aligns with education, experience, and market data for Levels I and II.

Daily tasks include supporting control system design, tracking project milestones, troubleshooting production issues, and updating documentation. Assist with automation development, safety systems, and integration following established procedures. Collaborate on basic project tasks in a driven team environment.

Key skills involve problem-solving to identify issues in manufacturing workflows, effective communication, and building mechatronics knowledge. Requirements

  • Basic understanding of mechatronics.
  • Problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills to identify basic issues in manufacturing workflows and propose simple solutions.
  • Communication and collaboration skills to communicate findings effectively and work with other roles.
  • Ability to learn from senior engineers by seeking guidance and feedback to improve technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Focus on understanding processes and building foundational expertise in control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and modification of control systems by following established engineering procedures and best practices.
  • Track project milestones, maintain documentation, and support basic project tasks.
  • Support troubleshooting of basic issues within production control systems using predefined methods and guidelines.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating control system documentation, including diagrams, manuals, and reports.
  • Assist with automation development and implementation while learning basic safety systems and standards.
  • Ensure documentation is organized and accessible for team use.
